Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is brushing teeth once a day enough?

Once a day is not recommended.  You should brush and floss after each meal and before bed.

  • How often should I visit my dentist for a hygiene checkup?

You should see your dentist every 6 month unless your dentist or hygienist recommends it more often.

  • How can I take care of my teeth between dental checkups?

Brush and floss after each meal and before bed. Avoid sugary foods, snacks and drinks and drink plenty of water.

  • At what age should I start taking my child to the dentist?

You should start your child at the dentist anywhere from 6 months to 1 year.

  • If my teeth are not hurting do I still need a checkup?

YES!  Your dental checkups are to maintain not only your oral health but your overall health.  You want to avoid pain by having your dentist and hygienist examine and clean your teeth.  This is an opportunity to attempt to repair any issues that are just beginning rather than wait for them to cause pain.
